88% Employees In Asia-Pacific Industry Demand Work From Home – Qrius

In a recent survey, it was revealed that 88% of employees in India and Asia Pacific wish for work from home model.

However, loss of productivity is an issue, which happens during working from home happens, and the #1 reason is distractions.

88% Employees Want Work From Home

As per a recent survey conducted by SAP Concur, it was revealed that 88% of the Indian employees wish for working from home. Note here, that in the IT sector, more than 95% if the employees are working from home, atleast for the big 5 IT firms: TCS, Infosys, HCL, Tech Mahindra and Wipro.

But it seems employees from other sectors haven’t yet embraced work from home in a big way.

Productivity Increased Due To Work From Home

The survey also revealed a crucial fact: 69% of the Indian employees admitted that their productivity has increased, due to the implementation of work from home.

Now, there can be several reasons for the same. While meetings do consume a lot of time in the offices, but now they are virtual, and thus saves time. 

Besides, since there is no time consumed in transportation, this can also be the reason why employees are able to save time while working from home.

But Productivity Loss Also Happens, Due To This Reason

The survey has revealed the real reason for loss of productivity of the employees working from home, and that is distractions.

Besides handling the affairs of the home, the productivity loss also occurs due to the mandatory requirement of filing expenses. Infact, 34% of the respondents told that finance related matters was the #1 reason why they felt that their productivity was lost while working from home.

The survey was conducted for 300 respondents in India, and 2012 in Asia-Pacific region.
