Looking for Work? Check the County’s New Online Job Board – East Hampton Star

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone has announced an online job board for both employers and job-seekers, with employment fairs, hiring events, and career exploration — a virtual employment center that he called a one-stop shop.

Under the Covid-19 pandemic, he said, “Hundreds of thousands of Long Islanders have lost their jobs and need assistance now more than ever before.”

“Through our virtual job board and hiring events, we are able to connect residents with meaningful employment to help them get back on their feet. I encourage everyone looking for assistance to visit the website and access our Labor Department services from the safety of their own home.”

Both residents and businesses are offered assistance through the new portal. The internet-based site, which brings together all the programs and services available in the County Labor Department’s brick-and-mortar employment center, is also available in Spanish.

Job listings in East Hampton Town now include cashier and produce clerk positions at Adams Hometown Market, an educator role at Lululemon, private live-in housekeepers, salespeople at the Ralph Lauren shops, and a junior architect position at Bates Masi Architects. Other online offerings include education and training opportunities, resume tutoring, career-building assistance, information on in-demand occupations, and employer match services.

To date, 64 employers and more than 1,000 individuals have registered, and 142 resumes have been created. Those interested in attending one of the upcoming virtual hiring events, on July 21 and July 23, can email [email protected] with name, email address, and phone number. Zoom login and meeting codes will be provided once registration is complete.
