The Asbury Hotel Has Created The Perfect Work From Home Set Up – Forbes

By now, most of us are now a little bit tired of our current work from home arrangements. Wouldn’t it be great if you could spend a week at the beach and still have the ideal place to work with lots of space, excellent Wi-Fi and a bar just a few feet away? Asbury Park’s renowned Asbury Hotel has recently introduced my favorite solution for those of us who want to get away, but still need to put in a few Zoom hours with our colleagues.

During the week, guests are invited to bring their laptops and spread out in the hotel’s spacious public spaces which have been reconfigured to offer both indoor and outdoor workstations, comfy chairs, free and very fast Wi-Fi and nearby printers. And if you need even more room, you might be able to snag an unoccupied hotel suite. You can access a large selection of music from the property’s Spotify playlist or borrow other digital material to motivate you as you work. Free beverages are also included.

Recommended For You

But the best part? You are in iconic Asbury Park. So you can take a coffee break and dip into the hotel’s spacious outdoor pool or enjoy a conference call while sitting on an outdoor swing under the pool’s shaded canopy. Poolside is the perfect place to enjoy lunch from the onsite food truck. You can indulge in a kale Caesar, fish tacos, a burger or a Frosé when it’s time for an online cocktail gathering. The beach is just a two minute walk away and is one of the main reasons to visit Asbury Park.

Evenings can be spent at the property’s extremely popular outdoor rooftop bar, Salvation. Signature cocktails include house-made lavender lemonade and the Asbury Painkiller, which features spiced rum, pineapple juice and coconut cream. Pizza and a terrific charcuterie board are also available and are surprisingly priced around $10. Another option is a visit to the nearby Asbury Park Distillery which offers cocktails made from their house-made vodka, gin and bourbon.

If you are traveling with your kids, they will love the outdoor movies shown on an adjacent rooftop, where everyone can enjoy some socially distanced fun.

Another favorite activity is a stroll down the boardwalk, where you can pick up causal snacks, stop by for a game of mini-golf, or just enjoy some amazing people watching. For a beach town, Asbury Park has an impressively large number of first-class restaurants. Cookman Avenue is closed to traffic and overflowing with outdoor dining options that range from brick oven pizza (Talula’s) to Korean tacos (MOGO) to outstanding sushi (Taka).

The Asbury Hotel might just be become your favorite new (work from) home away from home.
