Work from home best for techies, says Cyberabad police – Telangana Today

Hyderabad: Working from home could still be the best option for the city’s techies, according to the Cyberabad Police. With the Covid-19 pandemic showing no signs of slowing down, the Cyberabad Police and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) have advised Information Technology firms in the city’s IT corridor to not to be in a rush to call their employees to work from office.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, who is also the chairman of SCSC, said the IT sector had supported the system during the pandemic and that IT firms and employees had come forward to help the police with volunteers and donations. However, the battle was far from over, he said, adding that it was better not to rush and open offices completely.

The suggestion from the Cyberabad Police chief came during one of the regular virtual meetings with the IT companies earlier this week. Stating that there was nothing to panic about since the government was extending all support, Sajjanar suggested to the security heads of IT firms to be patient and not to be in a hurry to call their employees to office for work as the virus was spreading faster than earlier.

“As we are still fighting the virus, and our battle is not yet over, it is better for us not to rush and open our offices for employees to work. This could be risking them,” Sajjanar said. SCSC Secretary Krishna Yedula said they had not yet decided anything regarding calling back employees to work from offices.

“It is too early to decide anything as of now. Most companies have already decided to ask their employees to work from home till the year end,” he said, adding that discussions were on to chalk out a road map for the IT companies.
